Volunteer Stories

Listed below is a selection of stories from returned volunteers as they recount their experiences abroad.

Australia Volunteer Project- Olivier Lozano and Ysabeau Rycx took a year out from their jobs in France to volunteer in workcamps in Australia and Africa. Their two weeks spent on a workcamp at Shalom College in Townsville opened their eyes and their hearts to the local indigenous culture.

Bangladesh Volunteer Project
- Lisa Breeze and Jasmine Kuo helped out with a rural Bangladeshi community on various renovation and environmental projects.

Mongolia Volunteer Project
- Monica Kampfer worked with a group of orphans in a community near Ulaanbataar.

Russia Volunteer Project
- Kathleen Cheong helped in the restoration of a monastery in the historic city of St. Perersburgh.

Thailand Volunteer Project
- Dane Clapson spent two weeks living and working with an Akha hilltribe community in remote Northern Thailand.
