There are some new faces in SCI. There are also quite a few calls open so take a look and see if there is one for you. See you in October!
Join us for an International Campaigning Training!

We are happy to open the call for participation in the third and final activity of the project Gendered Realities: Work Plan for 2019 funded by EYF.

The activity consists of an International Training in Campaigning and will take place in Rome (Italy), on 19th – 24th November 2019.

If you are interested in becoming an effective campaign strategist, check the call for further information and apply through the online form by 18th August 2019!

Say hello to Federica and Esther! 

We’d like to welcome Federica and Esther as new long-term volunteers of SCI International Secretary! They arrive from Italy and Spain respectively.

Federica will be mainly responsible for the project Gendered Realities and Esther will work on internal and external communication with a specific focus on our 100 year celebration.

ABCD – Art for balanced Culture and Diversity

The ABCD training took place last week from 22.7. till 27.7 in a youth hostel in Antwerp, Belgium. An international group of 27 participants gathered to learn more about how art tools can enhance inclusion and cultural diversity.
Together they discovered different art forms like theater, collage, rap, installation… and how they can support inclusive processes. It was all about thought  provoking discussions about certain topics as well as creative group works. In the end there was a performance in a big park to get involved with the public and make them think about topics like environmentalism, refugees or social media.

Exchange Platform Meeting 2019

Exchange Platform Meeting (EPM) will take place from 13th to 19th October in Durres, Albania!

You can already register to the meeting here. Register soon, even if you don’t know the name of the person who will represent your organisation yet, so that logistical arrangements can be made.

The first mailing gives you information on the draft agenda and list of topics, documents to review, WG preparation and as well as important information on funding and travel support.

Looking for a new Tech Volunteer!

The International Secretariat is currently looking for a Tech LTV!

The Tech LTV would work with the Tech Coordinator on the following: providing technical support to the IS and the movement, creating and updating documentation, supporting the maintenance and creation of web platforms and managing emails and mailing lists. The placement would be for one year.

Call is open for a Team to work on ‘The decline of volunteers and workcamps’

The tasks of the team will be: review of current reports within and outside SCI related to the topic (e.g. work done by BEES); prepare a workshop for this years EPM (objective could be to identify problems and discuss good practices, make a plan how to continue); ideally; identify good practices and strategies to address the issue; and disseminate them within SCI.

If you are passionate about the topic and you have some spare hours before October please send a mail describing shortly your motivation and/or ideas to Lisa.Wevelsiep@posteo.de by the 11.8.2019.
